Barrel and Board, a brand new Scottsdale League for the Arts event is quickly approaching on Thursday, February 25th at the monOrchid art gallery with eight local breweries and five local distilleries set to pour barrel aged libations, beer and whisky, the good stuff.

Guests can expect refined barrel aged whisky from Arizona Distilling Co, High West Distillery, Del Bac Whisky, Dry Fly Distillery and Russell’s Reserve. Barrel aged craft beer will be provided by SanTan Brewing Company, Scottsdale Beer Company, Fate Brewing Company, Huss Brewing, The Perch, Craft 64, Angel’s Trumpet and O.H.S.O.

Event sponsor, Whole Foods Market, will offer an amazing cheese display that will compliment all those cold brews or whisky. The spread includes: rare cheeses from Borough Market Stilton, Spiced Local Cheese Curds, Barber’s Sweet Red Cheddar, Old Mimolette and an assortment of other fine cheeses.

Huss Brewing Co will serve Magic in a Barrel aged in Rye Whisky Barrels and Scottsdale Blonde Kolsch paired with cheeses from Wisconsin Cheese Store. Guests can also enjoy raspberry cheesecake ice cream paired with Imperial Stout aged with bourbon oak from The Perch. Or try the brie with brûléed peaches paired with The Perch’s pinot noir barrel aged ginger beer.

SanTan Brewing will serve chipotle bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese and paired with barrel aged Sex Panther. Craft 64 is set to pour their first ever house craft beers including Smooove Hoperator and Bonkers DIPA. Other food highlights include a brisket mac n’ cheese pairing from O.H.S.O and mini cheesecakes from Elizabeth’s Moments of Joy for guests to pair and devour.

General Admission tickets to Barrel & Board cost $45 online during presale and $55 at the door. Tickets include unlimited cheese samples and other tasty bites, 4-oz beer samples, 1-oz whisky samples and a souvenir tasting mug. All net proceeds raised will support the non-profit Scottsdale League for the Arts in its effort to promote arts and arts education organizations in the Phoenix metropolitan area, via annual fundraisers such as the Scottsdale Culinary Festival and The Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner. Since 2002, the League has contributed more than $4 million to numerous organizations such as Ballet Arizona, Childsplay and Free Arts of Arizona.
