4 Valley Trivia Nights Where The Food Is Fantastic

Trivia Night is great way to spend time with friends, drink some beer, and stretch those brain muscles. Sadly, there are countless places where the trivia is great but the food is less than stellar. We thought it would be fun to share with you a few restaurants and bars that host Trivia Night AND have really amazing food!

DeSoto Central Market

Trivia Details: Trivia at DeSoto Central Market is on Tuesday night and starts at 8pm. The event and questions are typically themed, for example they have done Harry Potter and Game of Thrones trivia.

The Food: Our love for DCM’s food is no secret. There is really not a bad menu item in the whole joint. Speaking of joints, the DCM Burger Joint has fantastic burgers. Their South X Southwest Burger is still one of our absolute favorites. It features a pork patty, poblano pepper, candied jalapenos, pepper jack fondue and a roasted corn aioli. The Larder + The Delta is always a solid choice. Its menu changes frequently based on what is in season so there are always new surprises.

Social Tap Scottsdale

Trivia Details: Trivia at Social Tap Scottsdale is on Wednesday night and starts at 8pm. The questions and topics are definitely geared towards adults with language that may not be appropriate for the younger crowd.

The Food: We recently tried Social Tap and really enjoyed their food. It is true that their menu is comprised of bar style food, but it really goes above and beyond traditional bar fare. The Ahi Poke is really sensational. It is made with Ahi Tuna, cucumber, cilantro, green onion and an Asian marinade that contains sesame oil, house made teriyaki, cilantro and lime juice. The Ahi Poke is one of Social Tap’s most popular menu items and its not difficult to see why.

Location: 4312 N Brown Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

K O’Donnell’s

Trivia Details: Trivia at K O’Donnell’s is on Wednesday night and starts at 7pm. Their event is pretty popular so its beneficial to get there a little early and take advantage of their Happy Hour which ends at 7pm. They also have Whiskey Wednesday specials during the evening on select whiskies.

The Food: Similar to Social Tap, K O’Donnell’s menu features upgraded bar fare. In all honesty, we go there for their wings and fries. Unlike most places that serve wings, they grill their wings and they are to die for! Their fries are beer battered steak fries and are always perfectly crispy (we are picky about this). They also serve pizzas, salads, and the like. We’ve heard good things and they look great, but we’ve just never moved past their wings (they are that darn good).

The Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill

Trivia Details: Trivia Night at The Thirsty Lion is held at their Tempe Marketplace location on Wednesday night and starts at 7pm. With 52 different beers on tap and standard pub trivia, its sure to be a fun evening!

The Food:
The pub style food at Thirsty Lion makes it different than the other spots we rounded up. Not only can you enjoy great burgers at Thirsty Lion (we certainly did), but you can also get great pub classics like Scotch Eggs and Beer Battered Fish and Chips. Scotch eggs are one of our favorite foods and are not readily available at a lot of places so Thirsty Lion is always a treat!

Location: 2000 E Rio Salado Pkwy #1041, Tempe, AZ 85281

  1. Crescent Ballroom in dtwn phx has great weekly trivia Sunday nights, 6-8pm! There are 10 rounds, each with a different theme (lots of music and movie trivia.) Great Mexican food and beer specials. Carne Asada burrito is a personal favorite.
