Maricopa Health Foundation Chili and Salsa FestivalThe Arizona Burn Center will return this year to host The 12th Annual Chili and Salsa Festival on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Scottsdale Harley Davidson.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Maricopa Integrated Health System’s Arizona Burn Center, Arizona’s only nationally verified burn center. The Arizona Burn Center is one of the busiest in the country, serving the entire Southwestern US and providing care to 5,000 children and adults every year.

Congressman David Schweikert, along with Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane, will be among the celebrity judges at the event, which will feature chili and salsa tasting, cold drinks, a kid’s fun zone and live music by local music group Tripwire. Chili tasting tickets are $5 for adults.

The Chili and Salsa Festival will include booths serving chili and salsa made by representatives of the Arizona Burn Center, community groups, businesses, and individuals.

“We are excited about the support from so many leaders in the community this year and our hope is to increase our visibility at the new venue location in Scottsdale,” said Nate Lowrie, President and CEO of the Maricopa Health Foundation. “The annual cook off continues to raise money to meet the needs of Arizona’s only nationally verified burn center. It’s all about giving back to the community. We try to raise as much as we can to help those adults and children who have suffered life-altering burns.”
