Shark Week is sadly almost over. However, we couldn’t let it go by without creating a new recipe. It only made sense to create a new recipe for The Meg! We created a recipe Meg-a Shrimp Cocktail! Not only that, but we are giving away VIP Advanced Screening Passes.
In The Meg, “a deep-sea submersible—part of an international undersea observation program—has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific…with its crew trapped inside. For The Meg, you need a larger than life appetizer. That’s why we came up with Meg-a Shrimp Cocktail! How is it different? Instead of boiling the shrimp we’ve grilled it! This gives it a nice smokey flavor. Speaking of smokey flavor, we’ve modified the typical cocktail sauce by adding Liquid Smoke. These changes make for a huge flavor!

Ingredients
- 12 Extra Large Shrimp; peeled and deveined (leave tails on)
- 3 cups Ketchup
- 3 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 3 tbsp prepared Horseradish
- 1 tbsp Mesquite Liquid Smoke
- 3 Lemons; quarted
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve. (Can be made in advance)
- Grill Lemon Quarters just until grill lines form.
- Chill.
- Peel and devein the shrimp, leaving the tails on.
- Place on skewers.
- Grill until cooked through; about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Chill.
- Prepare in an individual cups with one shrimp, a bit of cocktail sauce, and a lemon quarter.
- Serve.
