Panels and Events for Foodies at Phoenix Fan Fusion 2019

Phoenix Fan Fusion is only a few weeks away! If you are like us, you are probably already looking at the schedule and are trying to figure out just what panels you want to see and which event’s you’d like to attend. Just as we did last year, we’ve made it easy for you, our fellow foodies. We’ve rounded up a list of all the foodie friendly panels we could find! You can bet we’ll be hitting some of these as well!

Can I get it in the ORIGINAL recipe? The Science of Medicinal Soda (Thursday, May 23, 2019 :: 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm)– Liquor, Coca-Cola and heroin were all once touted as medical wonders. Come and unpack the funny and dangerous history of quack cures and health marketing. North 130

Sam Sykes Signing (Thursday, May 23, 2019 :: 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm, Friday, May 24, 2019 :: 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, Saturday, May 25, 2019 :: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm)– The author of Brave Chef Brianna will have 3 signings as well as a few other panels. Harry Potter Magical Cafe (Friday, May 24, 2019 :: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm)– Join us for a magical event in the wonderful wizarding world of the Harry Potter Magical Cafe! Escape to our Hogwarts curated cafe for fun and relaxation. Games and entertainment will be provided throughout the day, along with tarot readings and fortune telling! Event featuring the Horsemen Of cosplay group. (RSVP to attend.) North 224AB

 Your Friendly Neighborhood Gut Bacteria: Science & the Microbiome (Saturday, May 25, 2019 :: 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm)– There are as many as 10 times more bacteria living in our bodies than human cells. Where do they come from and what they do to help and hinder our health? North 130

Anime Anonymous Presents: The Macho Café (Sunday, May 26, 2019 :: 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm)– Join Anime Anonymous and the Macho Café for an afternoon of macho entertainment! Inspired by the popular Macho Café in Japan, we aim to bring you the full muscle-filled experience. The Macho Men have prepared their entire lives for this day, and are ready to serve up their favorite snacks with their sculpted muscles. The Macho Men love interacting with their customers and showing off their own unique talents. Come on in, take a break from the convention, and be astonished by our muscled men in their tight workout attire. PAID EVENT admissions sold on-site. North 224AB macho cafe

Deja Brew: The Science of Coffee (Sunday, May 26, 2019 :: 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm)– Whether it’s served black or loaded with extras, people love coffee. Will it kill you or save you? Networking and Nakama (Friday, May 24, 2019 :: 7 pm to 10 pm)- Like years past we know that Phoenix Fan Fusion is going to be so packed with Arizona’s geek community that we will hardly get the chance to see one another except for rare moments in passing. To counter that, The Geek Lyfe wants to take that Friday night and call all four corners of our community to just meet up and hang out. About Phoenix Fan Fusion

Phoenix Fan Fusion is a multigenre entertainment and comic book convention held annually in Phoenix, Arizona. It was founded as the Phoenix Cactus Comicon in June 2002 and originally consisted of a one-day six-hour event held in Ahwatukee, Arizona. Phoenix Fan Fusion plays host to comic related panels, programming events, art contests, and autograph signings for all ages. It is a four-day event (Thursday-Sunday) held during the summer at the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown Phoenix.
