The Parisian: A Personal Shopper Inspired Recipe

Cocktail Recipes | Gin Cocktails | The Parisian is a cocktail full of French flavors and is inspired by the movie Personal Shopper. 2geekswhoeat.comIf you haven’t already figured it out, we love a good ghost story. When we were approached to create a recipe for Personal Shopper we were more than a little excited. For this edgy thriller/ghost story, we decided to go with a cocktail as it seemed to fit the tone of the film.

Personal Shopper features Kristen Stewart as an “American in Paris, who works as a personal shopper, motor biking around the city buying up deluxe couture for a jet-setting celebrity client. By night, she attempts to channel the spirits of the dead, hoping to make contact with her recently deceased twin brother. When she begins receiving a series of chilling, increasingly sinister text messages, it seems she may have made contact—but with whom? And what do they want?”

For this cocktail, we were inspired by French spirits and flavors. We used a French gin called Esme. French gins usually have less of that herbaceous juniper flavor and focus more on floral notes. The Parisian also features Lillet Blanc and Dry Lavender Soda. Both add a bit more French flair to the cocktail.

To add to the fun, we are giving away 3 pairs of screening tickets for next week’s sneak preview of Personal Shopper. The screening will be held at Harkins Tempe Marketplace. The screening starts at 7 pm and the winners should arrive at 6:30 in order to guarantee their seating. Good luck and cheers!
