Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance (SAACA) and Monark Premium Appliance Co. are pleased to present the Great Chefs Series, a tantalizing line-up of collaborative chef inspired events.
The Great Chefs Series will feature an ongoing series of foodie-themed events. Each event will include an opportunity to meet the Chefs, enjoy live cooking demonstrations, and tastings presented by culinary experts, all in the Monark Premium Appliance Co. Tucson showroom. The goal of the series is to offer the community the opportunity to meet and interact with local chefs and offer one-of-a-kind culinary experiences.
The Great Chefs Series will bring together some of the most innovative chefs in Tucson. They are redefining the latest food trends and drawing attention to their unique spins on traditional, regional cuisines.” said Kate Marquez, SAACA Executive Director “We are excited to partner with Monark Premium Appliance Co. to offer these exclusive dining experiences to Southern Arizona.”
These exclusive events are limited to just 150 attendees, enjoying unique samplings prepared by each celebrated chef. The Series will kick off on September 13th with Chef Wendy Gauthier, Chef Chic, Chef Alan Sanchez, Table of Elementz, Chef Robert Kaslly, Splendido, and Chef Mario Ferrari, Noble Hops, presenting “The Art of Food”, as they bring the farm-to-table concept to life with a contemporary art spin.

September 13, 2016 – The Art of Food
Like art, food is also a genuine passion that people experience life through. Experience new ways in which we can see food as a great painting, or classic piece of photography or sculpture. Attendees will experience food, which will look – and feel like an abstract painting – or cultural statement. Chefs will present food in a whole new light, utilizing sight, sound, and smells to enhance the experience, utilizing new technologies, and cooking techniques.
November 10, 2016 – Emerging Chefs Kitchen
Showcasing local student chefs from the Pima Community College Culinary Arts program, this event will feature the talents of emerging chefs from Southern Arizona. Support their culinary creativity, and taste the developing culinary talents of some of our budding great chefs of tomorrow.
January 10, 2017 – The Sweet Experience
This sweet experience will take attendees on a sublime sugar high, featuring local bakers, chefs and culinary artisans showcasing their secret tricks of the trade. Learn more about how dessert is breaking new boundaries on our traditional ideas of dessert as we have known it in the past.
March 28, 2017 – The World Tour
Featuring great local chefs whose inspiration and cultural background have provided them with a look into a country outside of our own. Taste and feel the world through the eyes and cuisine of chefs featuring the dishes which are native to their homeland.
April 20, 2017 – Locally Sourced
Learn more about why Tucson received the UNESCO City of Gastronomy Designation, and taste the ingredients that helped make it possible. Local chefs will utilize meats, vegetables, spices and fruits native to our Southern Arizona region, in the creation of culinary masterpieces to share with attendees. In addition, local beer, wine and liquors will be on hand for tastings.
Tickets to the Great Chefs Series events are $25 per person and include menu samplings from 3-5 features chefs, libation samplings, live chef demos, music, and a Monark Premium Appliance, Co. gift bag. Each culinary event will be hosted at the Monark Premium Appliance Co. showroom, located on the NW corner of Thornydale & Orange Grove at 3850 W Orange Grove, Tucson, AZ 85741.
Proceeds from each event go directly to support arts education and no-cost creative arts therapy programming for local Veterans, provided by the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance.
