Take your taste buds on a global tour with Happy Hours Around the World presented by Scottsdale League for the Arts on April 7, 2016 from 7-10 p.m. Held at The Saguaro Scottsdale, guests will learn about Scottsdale’s eight sister cities, taste cuisine from around the world and enjoy live entertainment with cultural themes.

In partnership with the Scottsdale Sister Cities Association and sponsored by Merestone, Happy Hours Around the World will allow guests to experience the culture of each destination with decorated stations representing the style of that country. Upon arrival, adventurous patrons will receive a passport to take them on a journey from the Alps of Interlaken, Switzerland to the cobblestone streets of Alamos, Mexico.

Learn about the premier tourist destination of Haikou, China and taste the bold flavors from Marrakech, Morocco while exploring each region. Other destination stops include Cairns, Australia; Kingston and Ontario, Canada and Uasin Gishu, Kenya.

After receiving passport stamps from each location, guests can redeem two complimentary tickets to taste what Scottsdale has to offer at the Scottsdale Culinary Festival on April 16-17, 2016.

To round out the evening, DJ Dan Bare will be spinning popular music while intermingling music from around the world. Other special performances include Moroccan belly dancers, Irish Step Dancers, a Kenyan drum circle and more.

Restaurants participating in Happy Hours Around the World include Everybody Loves Fondue, Frites Street, Inchin’s Bamboo Garden and Modern Tortilla, all serving regional dishes for guests to taste and enjoy.

Sponsored by Hensley, guest’s eager to try beverages from around the world can sip specialty drinks including Coopers from Australia, Moosehead from Canada, 3 Amigos margaritas from Mexico, chai tea from Kenya and mint tea from Morocco.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Scottsdale Sister Cities Association, which is a nonprofit citizen diplomacy network that creates and strengthens partnerships between the U.S. and international communities. Proceeds will also support the non-profit Scottsdale League for the Arts in its effort to promote the arts and arts education organizations in the Phoenix metropolitan area, via annual fundraisers such as the Scottsdale Culinary Festival and The Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner. Since 2002, the League has contributed more than $4 million to numerous organizations such as Ballet Arizona, Childsplay, and Free Arts of Arizona.
