One of the most anticipated movies coming this fall is New Line Cinema’s IT. With a complete redesign of Pennywise, great marketing, and trailers that will scare your pants off, we are beyond excited for this film. Of course, we couldn’t not do a recipe right? Well you’re in luck because not only do we have a fun You’ll Float Too Float recipe, but Allied Marketing has generously provided tickets for an advanced screening!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the story, IT is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name. When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
Our You’ll Float Too Float was inspired by the tagline, “You’ll Float Too”. For that, what’s better than an ice cream float? Playing off of the colors of Pennywise’s outfit, we went with Cherry 7-Up instead of the traditional cola or root beer. Knowing that one of the premises for the movie is that something dark is below the city of Derry, we hid dark chocolate syrup in between the layers of ice cream. Finally, because the balloon is so so important to the iconography of IT, we used a cherry to create our own.
We hope you enjoy our recipe for the You’ll Float Too Float! Now for the part you’ve been waiting for! We are giving away five pairs of screening passes for an advanced showing of IT! The showing will be held at Harkins Arizona Mills on Tuesday, September 5th. The screening starts at 7 pm and the winners should arrive at 6:15 in order to guarantee their seating. Winners will be selected on Monday, September 4th. Good luck!
