The Geeks’ 2019 Phoenix Fan Fusion Dining Guide

One of our favorite articles to write each year is our dining guide for our local Phoenix convention, now called Phoenix Fan Fusion. There are always the obvious favorites like Networks and La Piazza. Heck, even last year’s guide is still current in terms of the food being good and the restaurants still being open. It gets a little harder each year to write about new restaurants or dining experiences given that not a ton of new restaurants have opened downtown. That being said, we are excited to share our 2019 Phoenix Fan Fusion Dining Guide!

This year we have added a few cool features to our Phoenix Fan Fusion Dining Guide. We are including walking distance from the convention center, restaurant hours, as well as sharing a few tips for dining out during the convention.

Tom Yum Thai We tried Tom Yum Thai this past weekend for the first time. After sharing the Green Curry Rice, we were sold. The flavors are bold and authentic! They feature traditional Thai fare which can be made gluten free upon request! Walking Time: 3 Minutes; Hours: 10 am to 9 pm Thursday and Friday, 11 am to 9 pm Saturday and Sunday Tom Yum Thai

The Counter Another first for us this past weekend was The Counter. The menu boasts a large selection of gourmet burgers as well as a create your own option. Vegetarians and vegans can also rejoice as they offer not only a veggie burger, but an Impossible Burger as well. The Impossible Burger patty is vegan but is served with cheese so if you want it to be served vegan be sure to ask for that. They also offer Gluten Free buns and their fries are fried in a separate fryer and are gluten free as well. Walking Time: 3 Minutes; Hours: 11 am to 9 pm Thursday through Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm Sunday The Counter

Taco Bell Cantina Sure, Taco Bell is nothing new. A Taco Bell that serves alchohol, however, is. The offerings include beer and boozy slushees that can be customized with rum, tequila, or vodka. They also have shareables which are similar to standard Taco Bell fare. Walking Time: 3 Minutes; Hours: 6:30 am to 1 am Thursday, 6:30 am to 2 am Friday, 10 am to 2 am Saturday, and 10 am to 8 pm Sunday Taco Bell Cantina

The Market at Hyatt Regency– The Market isn’t a traditional restaurant, but more of a grab and go. They serve breakfast and sandwiches, as well as salads, snacks, coffee, and drinks. What is great about them is that they are open late which means you can get snacks well into the evening. Walking Time: 1 Minute; Hours: 5:30 am to 12 am The Market at the Hyatt

Aside from these dining options, we thought it might be helpful to offer some tips for dining during Phoenix Fan Fusion:

  • Try to plan your meals around off-peak meal times. By doing so, you will avoid crowds and long waits.
  • Make use of delivery services. Don’t feel like braving the crowds? Use delivery services like GrubHub and Postmates. Just be sure to be specific as to where you are.
  • Order food to-go. Call ahead and get your food to-go. This will allow you to eat in your hotel room without having to wait for a table.
