So you bought a case of Ecto Cooler after being hyped about its re-release. You drank a few cans out of nostalgia and now what do you do with it? You make a Boozy Slimeade! That’s right! This 5 O’Clock Friday recipe is Ghostbusters themed and uses up that pesky Ecto Cooler you have leftover.
When we got the idea for our Ecto Cooler Review, we didn’t have the foresight to think about what we would do with our Ecto Cooler. You see, when you purchase it, you have to buy a case. Sure we will give a few cans to some friends and we will drink some of it on its own. But man, this drink is fairly sugary and needs something to tone it down. That’s where tequila comes in!
We toyed with the idea of other spirits, but we kept coming back to tequila. Minus the carbonation, Ecto Cooler has a citrus soda kind of a vibe. We’ve been playing with variations of the Paloma since the weather here is so ridiculously hot, so when the discussion came up, we knew that was the route to take. Thus the Boozy Slimeade was created! The addition of the Luxardo cherry makes it feel a bit more grown up as well.

Ingredients
- 1oz tequila
- .5oz maraschino
- 2oz Ecto Cooler
- Luxardo Cherry for garnish
Instructions
- Fill shaker with ice.
- Combine all liquid ingredients.
- Shake.
- Pour into martini glass or coupe.
- Garnish with luxardo cherry.
Notes
If and when Ecto Cooler returns to the vault, any limeade or lime flavored sugary juice type beverage will work.
