After what has felt like forever, it’s finally time! That’s right, Dune: Part Two is finally here! It’s been a long wait but we can tell you that it’s absolutely worth it! We’re so excited about its release that we created a new recipe for a Water of Life mocktail! Not only that, but over on Facebook we’ll be giving away 10 pairs of Fandango Tickets to see the movie!
“Dune: Part Two explores the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”
This cocktail is inspired by the Water of Life from the film. The Water of Life was a poisonous blue liquid used by the Bene Gesserit to turn their Sisters into Reverend Mothers. To those who were untrained, the substance was lethal and even the smallest amount would kill someone in incredible agony. Since we aren’t trying to kill anyone and are cutting back on alcohol in general, we thought it would be a fun challenge to make a mocktail for this! We started with a zero-proof gin. Alcohol-free spirits are increasing in popularity and are becoming easier to find. We combined that with a bit of blue curacao syrup (the non-alcoholic version of the spirit), and lavender simple syrup. These create a fairly sweet base so by using a garnish of cucumber and topping it off with seltzer water, you get a more balanced beverage.
We hope you enjoyed our Water of Life Mocktail recipe! Be sure to also out our Geeks Guide to Spice, inspired by the first film. As we mentioned, we are doing a giveaway for Fandango passes to see Dune: Part Two early! The contest for 10 pairs of passes will be hosted on Facebook but you’ll get a bonus entry by telling us your favorite non-alcoholic mocktail or beverage in the comments below! Good luck!

My favorite drink is probably horchata, but a close second mocktail would be Jamaican Sorrel (ginger & hibiscus)
I like pomegranate mocktini or anything with mint and or ginger in it. Dry January was a great refresh time.
The only alcohol I really only drink is cognac. So a good mix of cranberry juice, pineapple juice with lime and Hennessy always hits the spot for special occasions!
– Usually referred as a “HENNESSY BERRY COCKTAIL”
Sprite with lemonade has been a long time favorite
I’ve never really went out of my way for moctails since I like alcohol. When I was a kid at the bar with dad he would order me alcohol free Shirley temples and I did like those.
