Arizona Based LDV Winery Releases Two New Wines

One of our favorite Arizona winemakers, LDV Winery has released 2 new wines! The first is a Syrah and the second is a dessert wine called Epilogue. Here is a bit of information about these new wines!

LDV Winery SyrahSyrah: The 2013 Syrah is 100% estate grown and produced at LDV Winery at 5,000-foot elevation. It is reflective of the high-mountain fruit the vineyard is producing. The Chiricahua Mountain fruit was aged for 30 months. The Syrah grapes are loving the vineyard’s volcanic soils and we believe as the roots continue to reach deeper into the Rhyolite granite, the LDV Syrah will continue to evolve. However, the 2013 Syrah is already showcasing rich intensity.

Winemaker Notes: This full-bodied wine is filled with aromas of coffee and berries that lead into multiple layers of dark fruit on the palette. It has a decadent, soft mouth feel that is luscious and sensual. Enjoy with grilled meat.

LDV Winery The EpilogueThe Epilogue: A new milestone has been reached at LDV Winery with the release of our first dessert wine, 2012 The Epilogue Petite Sirah. We have been waiting 40 long months to get our hands on this one and it will not disappoint. Produced with about half the residual sugar remaining as most dessert wines, it is sweet enough to serve as dessert all by itself but dry enough to not be cloying or syrupy. We knew we were going to age this one a while so we used tight-grained Minnesota oak to ensure that the wine was not overpowered by oak.

Winemaker Notes: The Epilogue exudes tobacco, toast, and berries in the nose that leads to a powerful rush of dark fruit on the palette. This fruit explosion is followed by a long, sweet, and savory caramel and spice note finish. Enjoy with chocolate, blueberries and cream, bleu cheese, or your favorite cigar.
