It’s always exciting when one of your favorite festival films gets a mainstream release on a popular streaming platform. Earlier this year, Fresh debuted at the Sundance and Sarah fell in love with it! Easily one of her favorite films of 2022, it came as no surprise that we had to create a recipe for it. Truth be told, we shot this recipe a while back but life came up and we are just now getting around to posting it! That said, it isn’t too late to queue up the film and enjoy Noa’s Manhattan!
In Fresh, “frustrated by scrolling dating apps only to end up on lame, tedious dates, Noa takes a chance by giving her number to the awkwardly charming Steve after a produce-section meet-cute at the grocery store.”
When creating Noa’s Manhattan, we decided to go for true craft cocktail ingredients. The scene where she has a drink with Steve takes place in a fancy-looking bar so we thought this was fitting. We also figured that if it were something Steve was making her, he’d try to impress her with upscale ingredients. While these ingredients are somewhat pricey, you don’t need a large quantity and they are readily available at stores like BevMo and Total Wine.
We hope you enjoy our recipe inspired by Fresh! If you’re looking for more commentary on Fresh, take a listen to the Final Girls Feast episode in which Carrie and Sarah have a spoiler-free discussion about the film! Fresh is now available to view on Hulu!
Inspired by the movie Fresh, now on Hulu, The Geeks have created a recipe for Noa's Manhattan, a cocktail featured in the film.
- 2 oz Rye Whiskey (we used Bulleit)
- 1/2 oz Luxardo Liqueur
- 1/2 oz Carpano Antica Vermouth
- Luxardo Cherries for garnish
- Combine all ingredients in a bar mixing glass.
- Strain into a glass.
- Serve up.
- Garnish with extra Luxardo cherries.
