This past January we participated in the Sundance Film Festival’s virtual film festival. One of the films we didn’t get an opportunity to see was Rye Lane due to it only being an in-person showing. Fortunately, we were able to see an early screener and came up with a really fun recipe inspired by the film, Yas’ Spiced Hummus.
In Rye Lane, “two twenty-somethings, both reeling from bad break-ups, connect over the course of an eventful day in South London – helping each other deal with their nightmare exes, and potentially restoring their faith in romance.”
So you’re probably wondering how we decided on a hummus recipe for this film. Well, Yas has a very memorable scene, which we won’t spoil, that features hummus. It is one of the funniest moments of the entire movie. At that point, we knew there was no other recipe we’d create for this film. Additionally, she enjoys spicy food so we thought it would be fun to make out own spicy version. Fortunately, you can add as little or as much spice as you like.
We hope you enjoy our take on Yas’ Spiced Hummus. Rye Lane drops on Hulu, this Friday, March 31st. Be sure to go check it out! It really is a fun rom-com!
