Happy Friday! We have another fun horror movie-inspired recipe that’s perfect for the fall season! We’ve always wanted to do a recipe inspired by Trick ‘R Treat and now felt like the right time. We are excited to share our latest recipe for Sam’s Cider, a mocktail that is sure to impress whether you make it for others or for yourself!
In Trick ‘R Treat, “interwoven stories demonstrate that some traditions are best not forgotten as the residents (Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, Dylan Baker) of a small town face real ghosts and goblins on Halloween. Tales of terror reveal the consequences of extinguishing a Jack-o-Lantern before midnight and a grumpy hermit’s encounter with a sinister trick-or-treater.”
The inspiration for our Sam’s Cider mocktail came from a few places. First, our friend Shannon (who happens to run the awesome site Nightmarish Conjurings) is one of, if not the biggest Sam/Trick ‘r Treat fans we know. She also happens to not drink. Therefore, it was only fitting that a recipe inspired by this movie be alcohol-free. Additionally, in an Instagram story, Shannon brought up a great point about Sam being in a child’s form despite being centuries old. This means that our recipe should be child-friendly as well. Last but certainly not least, we were asked by a lot of our readers to create a seasonal mocktail that would be perfect for Halloween.
We hope you enjoy our recipe for Sam’s Cider! We hope to do more mocktails in the future since they have been so widely requested! What are your plans for this Halloween? We are planning on doing a movie marathon at home and you can bet we will be making some of our recipes. With Halloween just around the corner, there is still a bit of time for new recipes. Let us know in the comments below what movies you’d like to see recipes for!
